Our Moon Jellyfish are specifically sourced from a temperate environment, eliminating the need for a chiller in any of our jellyfish tanks.

Moon Jellyfish have versatile diets, consuming baby brine shrimp, frozen baby brine shrimp, and other foods depending on their size. We offer a variety of nutrient-rich foods to meet their dietary needs.
These jellyfish thrive in a slow to medium water flow, and we provide specialized jellyfish tanks to support successful keeping.
Moon Jellyfish Maintenance
Proper tank selection and weekly saltwater changes are essential for Moon Jellyfish care. A recommended 10% weekly water change ensures a healthy environment.
Maintaining consistent water temperature is crucial, with new water introduced at the same temperature as the tank. Cooler or similarly tempered new water is acceptable.
Beyond temperature control, Moon Jellies require minimal maintenance. As long as the water temperature stays below 25 degrees Celsius, they thrive with minimal intervention—no skimming, expensive pumps, or extensive lighting necessary.
For successful Moon Jellyfish care, the following items, all available at our store, are recommended:
- Tank designed for jellyfish housing.
- Saltwater for weekly 10% water changes.
- Hydrometer to maintain salinity levels (1.023 at 24 degrees Celsius).
- Thermometer to ensure water temperature remains between 18-25 degrees Celsius.
- RO (reverse osmosis) water for top-ups due to evaporation (salt doesn't evaporate).
- Marine water test kits for pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate (desired levels: pH 8.0-8.3; ammonia 0; nitrite 0; nitrate below 20ppm).
- Proper food.
- Hose for water and excess food removal.
- Cleaning pad to keep the tank's interior glass clean.
